Three Months Old Already ?!?

We can't believe that Sam is already three months old - where has the time gone? He's doing so great and getting so big. Only two weeks of meds left and he'll be completely done with all that jazz.

Mom went back to work part days last week and Sam and Dad have done a fabulous job in the mornings. On Thursday Sam spent a couple of hours at daycare without Mom and I think he did better than I did - but I only cried for the first few blocks :) He'll start at Amber's house on Monday and I'm sure he'll love it.

He's really starting to hold his head up well and he's very curious and loves looking around. Patty cake is a new favorite and he and Dad have "guy stuff" they like to do in the mornings.

He's almost getting too big for his bassinet and his swaddler, so we've been doing naps in the big crib to get ready for that. We've also started leaving an arm or both out of the swaddler at night to start easing him out of that. So far, so good :) Just this morning, I was watching him nap in the crib on the monitor and he's rolling from his back up onto his side and almost all the way over - such a big boy!

Looking Good!

Sam had a great doctor's appointment on Friday with the neurologist. She said his EEG was fantastic and he is doing great. She was a little concerned that he has a small head, but was not concerned because developmentally he's doing everything he's supposed to. He's starting to come off the last medication and will be med free in about 4 weeks - yeah!!! We'll return in six weeks for another follow-up but won't need to have an EEG at that time. He's getting past his fussy stage and is starting to be much more awake and aware every day. He's pretty even-tempered and has been smiling and cooing and "talking" a lot. Sam's even starting to like his bath a bit more - he's still not a big fan, but he's not crying and kicking through the whole thing anymore! We're so happy it's starting to get warmer outside, we were able to take the stroller out and go to the St. Paddy's Day parade on Saturday and got a good walk in on Sunday. I started back to work Monday morning. I'm easing myself in with mornings only for the next couple weeks and then coming home in the afternoons when Matt has to go to work. It wasn't too bad today and I got a great big smile when I got home and Matt did a great job, so the first day is OK - we'll see how the rest go!

Happy times

Sam had a good week and has started sleeping really well at night - in fact he slept 8 hours last night from 9 pm to 5 am! He's had a couple of fussy hours at night, but not too bad. Auntie Brenda had the magic bounce step on Saturday night and calmed him right down. He got to spend some bonding time with his Daddy on Friday night while I went to dinner with Mom, Dee and Brenda and then Saturday morning while Dee and I got pedicures. Matt even had to give him a bath on Saturday since he blew out a diaper while I was gone! Sunday we had Jesse's baptism and finally got a photo of all four kids together. The therapist from the school district made her 1st monthly visit this morning and gave us some exercises we can do with Sam to work on his flexion, some that he likes, and some not so much :) Friday he has his next EEG and appointment with the neurologist and hopefully if everything is looking good, he'll get to come off his keppra too.

New pics!

Sam had a good two-month check-up. He weighs 10 lbs 1 oz and is 23 1/2 " long, so he's in the 25th percentile for his weight and the 75th for his height. Dr, Dunphy said he is long and lean. He got first round of vaccinations - not a big fan, but he only cried a little after the shots and didn't have any side effects later in the day, I think Mom had a tougher time than Sam. Aunt Betty made him a new hat which is the picture above and Daddy took the picture of him sleeping to show me what Sam did when Brenda and I went to a movie.
