We got to have a great time at Paul Bunyan this summer with an outing with the daycare kids. Sam loved going on all the rides, and there were not very many people there so they could go on the rides as many times as they wanted! He was really surprised when Paul knew his name, but was kind of nervous about walking up to him :) Such a fun summer!

Spring has sprung!
Finally spring is here and we can do Sam's favorite thing - play outside! As he says, "because it's nice out" :) We've been having lots of fun playing in the sandbox, swinging on the swingset and going for walks in the stroller to the park. He's really into baseball (or any kind of ball) this year. He loves to sing the Twins song, or Take Me Out to the Ballgame, and everytime he sees a baseball game he yells "Play Ball!" His favorite players are Michael "Addyer", Kirby Puckett and Joe Mauer. We have Cuddyer and Puckett bobbleheads and he loves to play with them.
Sam had a chance to do some fishing for crappies opening weekend at Grandma and Grandpa Erickson's house and was so excited to use his new fishing pole.Even though he only caught the minnows in the bucket - he loved it and thought it was fun to fish like mommy and daddy.

He likes to continuously tell us that "I a big kid now" and that "I do it by myself" so he is really asserting his independence and has become quite the chatterbox. Somehow overnight, my little baby has become a big kid who says the funniest things and is just the sweetest kid ever.
There's nothing that beats the "Hi, Mommy" and smile you get when you see him - unless it's his BIG-G-G hugs and kisses that he loves to give!

The B&W photo was from a local community photo shoot my Rotary club sponsored talking about what we love in the Brainerd Lakes area. Over 1500 photos will be displayed throughout the area all summer - should be great!
This past month Sam got a chance to see his first circus and got to see elephants, lions, tigers and camels. He was so excited to see all the animals, but not too thrilled with cotton candy yet!

Fun Weekend!
What a weekend! While A. Brenda and U. Joe went snowmobiling for the weekend - Auntie Dee decided we should have a fun-filled sleepover weekend at her house with all the kids. We went to to Chuck-E-Cheese's on Friday night for pizza and fun games and rides. Then Saturday we spent the whole day at Mall of America doing the Nickelodeon Universe rides and Underwater World to see the sharks and jellyfish. What a lot of fun! Four toddlers in that type of environment should spell disaster, but they all did super well - I think the adults were more tired at the end of the day!

Winter Fun or Cabin Fever?
Sam is getting a little restless being stuck inside every day when it is so cold out. He loves being able to get outside and help shovel snow or just run around in it. When he's not able to go outside, he finds ways to get into plenty of mischief, and has become a very big "helper". This weekend he helped make toast for breakfast, and he always has to set the table. When he's not helping with the dishes, he likes to help Dad fix stuff. He'll pull out his tools and try to do it just like dad. I can't believe how grown up he's becoming. He can dress himself and the sentences are becoming more complex every day. He went from being a baby, to a little boy overnight it seems and he is remembering everything and repeating everything too! Bath time remains a highlight of the day (yes the water in the picture is supposed to be yellow - we were using color tabs in the bath), and we're hoping that there will be a chance for him to get back into swimming lessons this spring. Sam got to go bowling for the first time with Rylie and Jesse, and he loved it! He squealed and clapped everytime the ball rolled down the lane, and had a great time. It's so fun to see how excited he gets about everything!
