No more medicine!

It's been an interesting week at the Erickson household. Both Matt and I ended up with a touch of the flu over the last week and I think we basically passed it back and forth for a few days. We were pretty much homebound from Wednesday through the end of the weekend trying to get feeling better, I think we've finally kicked it to the curb so things are looking up :) Luckily, Sam didn't catch it, however I think he must have known we were not up to par, because he sure was a great kid all weekend long!

Sam has been completely medicine-free since Thursday night - yeah!! There's been no adverse effects from the end of the meds, in fact he's been really happy and fun this past week. We're starting to get more and more giggles and Matt even got a big laugh the other day. He's been napping really well, but still waking up quite a bit at night, which I think is probably a bit attributable to the end of the medication too.

He's continuing to have fun at daycare, he even got to enjoy some of the nice weather outside last week watching the kids play and sitting in the sun. We've been trying to take daily walks whenever the weather allows, and he likes to tool about in the stroller, and often times takes a bit of a nap with the rhythm of the stroller.

We managed to get a picture of all four cousins together at Easter with Grandpa and Grandma and Sam did a good job of smiling for the pictures right up until the very last one with all his grandparents, but it's still a cute picture. He didn't seem too enthused about watching Rylie and Julia coloring Easter eggs, but maybe next year he'll be able to pitch in and help.

Daycare and Grandparents are back!

Sam started daycare last week since I had to go back to work full-time. He spends mornings with Dad, then I usually come home for my lunch break to feed him and take him to daycare at Amber's house. He is doing pretty well with the whole thing - probably better than Mom is :) I think he likes to watch all the kids and be involved and he really likes Amber's husband, Jason, and son, Sawyer; he smiles at them a lot! He's starting to get more of a routine now and I think that works for him. Matt's doing a really great job in the mornings - he's a really good daddy!

Grandpa and Grandma Erickson got back from Arizona this week and Sam finally got to spend some awake time with them - even though he took a nap in Grandma's arms. He got to visit their home on Sunday for the first time too. We're excited they're back for a while to see him grow!

Sam keeps getting bigger all the time, we've had to retire some of his clothes that are too small for him, but I think we're going to have a tough time with pants for him, because the ones that fit around the waist are too short and the right length ones are waaayyy too big around the skinny waist yet!

The school district teacher and therapist made their monthly visit this morning and they were amazed at how much he's grown. He did a great job of "showing off" and they were really pleased with his strength, visual tracking and response to different things. They thought he was doing great and gave us a few times to work on some things. He only has a week and a half of meds left and then he will be medication free - yeah!! He's really starting to like to play with toys, he can hold a rattle and likes to watch and hear them - of course when he holds it, it goes right in the mouth!

We watched Rylie and Jesse for a few hours after daycare today and everyone did great for most of it. Jesse and Sam both took a nap at the same time so Rylie, Matt and I had dinner. Then when the boys woke up, they were both in a good mood and played with me and Rylie on the floor for quite a while. The kicker was when both boys decided they were hungry at the same time and Rylie needed to go potty then too :) I was just figuring out how I could nurse Sam and give Jesse a bottle at the same time when Joe & Brenda got there - now I know what it would be like with twins!

Sam had to break out the Twins shirt today in honor of Opening Day of baseball season. Of course, before the game even started tonight, he had to have an outfit change at daycare :)
